The first half came to a close and Crisafulli Bros. dropped the finale to a well coached Segel, Goldman, Mazzotta & Siegel, P.C. squad (What no Vagianelis in the title?). SGMS stymied Crisafulli Bros. with fine pitching performances from their top 4 of Dermot McDonough, Matt Tiberia, Kyle Lewis and Colin Roche.
Crisafulli Bros. received a gritty performance from Camron Von Wedel who was sharp early on the mound, and sustained a facial injury in the third inning. Camron, though, toughed it out for a short-handed Crisafulli Bros. and stayed in the game. A truly inspiring effort out of Camron who also singled and scored the lone run for Crisafulli Bros on a double by Zack O'Brien. Matt Cavaliere played a fine all-around game with three hits, four stolen bases, fine defense at second and "putting up a zero" in his mound debut.
Kudos to Matt Tiberia for hitting a bomb of a home run that cleared left center and landed well onto the Majors Field.
Shake it off boys, and let's go get' em in the second half. |

It was a fun game against a talented and well coached Crisafulli Bros. Team. Hats off to a fine performance from Cameron VonWedel who was strong on the mound for Crisafulli Bros. and also sustained a ball to the face and later collision at first base but remained in the game for a short-staffed Crisafulli Bros. Team. The SGMS pitchers were on their game tonight with McDonough, Tiberia, Lewis and Roche all pitching extremely well and holding Crisafulli Bros. to only one run. Kyle Lewis contributed a single and run scored, Luke Andres a single, walk and run scored, Will Vagianelis a single and three runs scored, Matt Tiberia was on fire with a double, walk, big Home Run over the center field fence and two runs scored, Dermot McDonough two walks, Colin Roche one walk, Will Gross one walk and hit by pitch, Ian Marsh hit by pitch and Nick Burby with his first hit of the season and run scored. It was a strong close to the first-half of the season for SGMS and we are looking forward to the second half. |
