It was a fun filled night tonight up at NCYBA. Both teams were scrambling for players to start the game, as well as equipment, & game balls. But it got underway as planned, with some players arriving in about the 2nd inning. This game served as a good tuneup for both teams, as playoffs start tomorrow. Thanks to Manager Pascazio & Coach Treacy for making it enjoyable. Your newer pitchers out of the bullpen did very well. Best of luck in the playoffs. Highlights for the Northwestern Mutual boys:
Nate: Pitched 4 fantastic innings! 7 K's. Single with 1 run scored
Nick: On base 3 for 3, with single, HP (seams still on his back), & BB, & 3 runs scored, 4 stolen bases.
Zack: Batted 3rd tonight.On base 2 for 3 with BB, & HP. 1 run scored.
Justin: Batted cleanup tonight. 2 singles. Executed a perfect bunt for the suicide squeeze with Nate coming home.
Brian: One BB, & pitched a superb 5th inning. Fantastic job Brian!
Harrison: single, double, & great job catching.
Ryan A.: Good hit but thrown out by 3rd baseman. Nice job connecting again. Keep swinging.
Sammy: Almost an ESPN highlight catch in left field. Just popped out. Great effort.
Ryan L: nice single. Nice stretches at 1B for several putouts.
Louis: single & BB. 1 run scored.
Noah: BB & 1 run scored.
It's been a great regular season, & the boys seem very eager & ready for tomorrow's playoff game. One thing for sure tomorrow, they will give it their all. |

I hate to bust Coach Paulsen and Coach Seeburger bubbles, but the rumor is that only games that Paulsen Development has won are games in which Coach Marsh has filled in as coach or Coach Pesnel is there to coach first base. But even my own son said he wish he was on Paulsen Development A.K.A. The Fun Team.

This was a great game! One of the best played games by both teams. After 8 innings of play and switching leads back and forth the game ended in a tie.

Although you enter a game trying to win, today's result of a tie was a better ending, & a great way to celebrate Mother's Day up at NCYBA. Both teams played hard & it was a well fought game that went into extra innings. Had we not ran out of time, who knows how long it would have went on for. It see sawed back & forth, & the end score of 5-5 left everybody feeling victorious. It was really a special treat for the Mom's in attendence. Best of luck to Manager Garcia , Coaches, & players in the upcoming playoffs.
Team Highlights:
Harrison: on base 3 for 4 with a single, & 2 BB, & a run scored.
Nick: on base 2 for 4 with 2 bb, & 2 runs scored. Pitched 2 innings & had 5 K's, & caught later on & gunned out runner at 2B.
Noah: on base 3 for 3, with 3 bb's, & 2 runs scored. 24 pitches over 7th & 8th inning tells the story. Superb effort.
Ryan L.: on base 2 for 3 with a single & bb. Pitched in the 5th & had 3 K's, & came back with another in the 6th.
Louis: On base 1 for 3 with BB, & had a fantastic sac. bunt in the 6th. One RBI. Well done.
Bobby: On base 1 for 3 with a single. Pitched 3 K's in a 4 out 2nd inning.
Justin: on base 2 for 3 with a HP & single. Good job catching.
Brian: Sharp hits two times but defense was strong.
Nate: on base 1 for 3 with a single.
Zack: on base 1 for 3 with a HP.
Sam: A+ effort. Will be ready for playoffs.
Ryan A.: Coming on strong. Very hot bat. On base 2 for 3 with two singles. Great job.
One more game Friday, before we hit the single elimination playoffs on Saturday!
