It was a fun game against Coach Baker's team. Jack Mattis set the tone with a terrific inning on the mound. Logan Marshall also did a great job pitching. Owen Bryant scored two important runs with some awesome baserunning. Adam Biszack had a tremendous base hit and did a great job behind the plate. Will Davis hit a homerun and Matt Stento hit his 7th of the season. A wonderful finally for the Orange Crush. Thanks to Mr. Bryant for the great tee shirts and thanks to all of the kids for being an awesome team! |

The Bellizzi boys completed the 2nd half of the season against a resurgent Backyard team. Backyard's Josh Robbins led the attack with 2 homeruns and Adam Wilson chipped in 2 singles. Bellizzi's Matt Gillespie turned a 4-3 deficit in the 4th to a 5-4 lead. A backyard comeback in the 6th just fell short and Bellizzi hung on for a 10-7 win. Congratulations to the Bellizzi players on a fun and outstanding season of baseball. |

A fun game to end a super season. Luntz was a formidable opponent and won in the bottom of the 6th with some key hits. Joe Brazis-Eberle pitched a great game and contributed 2 hits and strong fielding. Sean Turner hit a home run and pitched in relief. Matt Furlong had a 2 run double to bring in the leading run in the top of the 6th before Luntz overcame the deficit. Andrew Stein,Sam Vail, Nishant Sviristava and Thomas Buffaline played tough defense. Matt Wise was his usual strong presence at the plate and in the field. Riley Turner and Steven Shaw , our allstars also played great games. A strong finish to a really rewarding season . Good luck to Pelow and Taranto in the Finals. Thanks to all of our parents for their support all season. |

Keystone secures an exciting win to finish the 2d half with a solid 7-2 record. LaBarge was tough from start to finish, with solid pitching and hitting and playmaking in the field.
Keystone had good pitching from Berben, Luntz and Dickinson. Michael Coe finished the season with good hitting, as did Jack Pocorroba (line drive hit to RF). Harrison Polverelli made two flashy plays at 2B. Pete Ernst had a walk, steal and run scored. Brian Bolduc hit a laser shot off the LF wall with the bases loaded to end the game in walkoff style. A great finish from a great group of players! |

SGMS fought hard for this third game in four days and tried to make it our sixth consecutive win, but despite a valiant effort, we came up a bit short. It was a classic extra-inning baseball battle with a couple hits, calls and plays making the difference. Crisafulli Bros. held a 6-1 lead through three innings, but SGMS never gave up and tied things at 6-6 in the top of the fifth. But hats off to Garrett Skultety's walk-off 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to seal the win for a tough Crisafulli Bros. Team. Earlier in the game Mike Turoski had two home runs and Cam VonWedel added another for Crisafulli Bros. Zach O'Brien also made an outstanding defensive play for Crisafulli Bros. at third base catching a stinging line drive in the second inning and robbing Will Gross of an extra base hit and a couple RBI's. McDonough, Lewis and Roche were all solid on the mound for SGMS with some defensive plays worthy of mention: Luke Andres making a double play by catching a hard hit line drive at second base and doubling-up a Crisafulli Bros. runner at first base with assistance from first baseman Matt Tiberia. Also, catcher Will Vagianelis gunned down a Crisafulli Bros. runner at second base with a great tag made by short stop Colin Roche. Kyle Lewis contributed a big double and single, Will Vagianelis two walks and a single, Matt Tiberia two singles and a big double, Dermot McDonough a walk and single, Nick Marshall a solo home run in 4th inning which reinvigorated our Team, Colin Roche a walk, Will Gross a single, Ian Marsh a single and two walks and Matt Perry a walk. An outstanding regular season for SGMS. |

In the annals of baseball history there are a few names that conjure up a single memory for their feats . . . Bill Mazeroski, Bernie Carbo . . . well to the members and families of Crisafulli Bros., add another member to that club in the name of Garrett Skultety. Garrett hit a 3 run walk-off homer to win an extra inning affair over an excellent SGMS team, 9-6.
Crisafulli Bros. jumped out to an early 6-1 lead due to the long ball from Michael Turoski (2 solo shots to left), and Camron Von Wedel (a 2 run shot). Other offensive heroes for Crisafulli Bros included Alex Shudt with 2 doubles, a single and 2 runs scored, and Cameron Schultz with three singles and a run scored.
On the mound, Joey Schrempf pitched four effective innings and was assisted by some sharp glove work from Zack O'Brien who snared an absolute rocket of a line drive from the bat of Will Gross for SGMS, and turned it into a double play. Michael Turoski came on to pitch the final three innings and escaped some jams with the help of the glove of Alex Shudt who made a nice running grab of a pop up in "no man's land" in short left field from his shortstop position.
SGMS battled back behind the big bats of Matt Tiberia, Kyle Lewis and Nick Marshall (solo homerun) to tie it at 6. Luke Andres also flashed the leather by taking a sure hit away in the bottom of the 6th inning that potentially saved the winning run and turned it into a double play forcing extra innings. Will Vagianelis was also very strong behind the dish for SGMS and gunned out a speedy Crisafulli runner in the 5th inning. On the mound, Dermot McDonough was tough as nails with 9 Ks through four innings for SGMS.
After Michael Turoski worked his way out of trouble in the top of the 7th inning by getting the final out with two runners in scoring position, it set the stage for Garrett's heroics. Matt Cavaliere led off the bottom of the 7th inning with a single, and Connor Latorre followed with a crucial walk. Both advanced to second and third on stolen bases, and Crisafulli Bros. hoped for a sacrifice fly to win the game. Garrett decided that the SF would not be enough, so he launched his first home run to left to drive in all 3 and win the game.
Just an excellent game with many strikes thrown, good plays made in the field by both sides and timely hits. A tough one for either side to lose. Congratulations to SGMS and Coach Vagianelis on a great game and great season. To my guys, Congrats on the great win against a very worthy opponent, and thanks for a wonderful season that went out in exciting fashion. |
