The Backyard Boys get back on track with a 12-4 win over a tough Keystone squad. Many players had key contributions to the effort. Michael Mullen and Dermot McDonough were strong on the mound. Zach O'Brien came in to pitch a solid inning as the closer. Mullen also had two ropes to left center. Jimmy Gallagher had a nice rbi and a run scored. Sportsmanship award winner Tom Curiale had a stolen base and run scored. Andrew Luntz had 2 hits a 2 rbis to go along with some alert defensive play at 1B. Tommy Raleigh hit a long two out double to CF to plate two runs in the 4th.
Luke Roe had a huge two out catch of a line drive to left, and Mike Turoski made a nice backhand play at SS. A real nice team effort. |

The "comeback kids" came through late against a very good Capital Cities team, scoring a bunch in the top of the 6th. Didn't see this one coming as we left 9 runners on base in hte first 4 innings. Hitting stars in the 6th - include Jason Briscoe with a 2 run HOMER, Ryan Henning with a 2 rbi double, Matt Gillespie with a single/bomb to the fence, and Adam Biszick and Drew Ksanznak with a singles. Good leather by Jeff Hammond in left to end a rally and by Matt G. at second. Gold glove to pitcher Drew K. with a major league stab of a line drive and a toss to first to complete a double play. Thanks to Hunter for clutch catching when things were close. Sharing the load at pitcher were, Kevin, Drew, Ryan and Jeff who all pitched their best. Great game guys!! |

Zach Wood pitched a tremendous game for Capital Cities. Ben Spence did a wonderful job in relief. Unfortunately, Capital Cities couldn't hold on against a very tough McKeough Landscaping team. Coach Harder is a terrific coach and does a great job with his team. Thanks to him Intermediate had a well maintained pitchers mound all year long. It was a fun game. |
