Dom's Pizza   Good Dick's D combined with a low offensive output (5 hits) ground the season to a halt for the Pizza Boy's. Great night for 2nd baseman Derek Bird with 3 putouts and a fine single. Connor, Sean, Chris and Dan also added a single. Coach George, Bill, and myself enjoyed this combination of clowns. Thanks fellas! hope to see some of you next year. Tini time Coach Marshy.

Dick's Sporting Goods   Another epic battle between Coach Paulsen and Coach Marsh. Not many hits or runs as pitching and good defense dominated the game. Ryan Marsh went 2-3, helping Dicks Sporting Goods to a 4-1 victory over Paulsen Development on Monday at NCYBA Field two. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning. Paulsen Development couldn't get anything going so long as Robert Burke was on the hill. Paulsen Development managed just two hits off of the Dicks Sporting Goods' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work. Dicks Sporting Goods stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on an RBI double by Garrett Klahr. Dicks Sporting Goods piled on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Nick Miller's double got things going, bringing home Marsh. That was followed up by a groundout by Burke that scored Miller. Special Thanks to Derek Becker and Maki Medici for filling in. "Powered by Narrative Science and GameChanger

Dick's Sporting Goods   Dicks Sporting Goods scored five runs in the sixth on a two-run single by Robert Burke, an RBI single by Spencer Paluch, an RBI double by Nick Miller, and an RBI single by Andrew DiNovo. To break open a tight game. Miller racked up two RBIs on two hits for Dicks Sporting Goods. Garrett Klahr recorded the win for Dicks Sporting Goods. He allowed two runs over four innings. Klahr struck out three, walked one and gave up three hits. Dicks Sporting Goods stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring three runs on two passed balls and an RBI single by Miller. Dicks Sporting Goods tacked on another two runs in the fourth. Paluch started the inning with a single, plating Ryan Marsh. That was followed up by an error that scored Klahr. One LaBarge Tire run crossed the plate in the top half of the sixth, making the score 5-3. A groundout by Denzel sparked LaBarge Tire's rally. But, Burke got Garrett to strike out to end the inning.

Dom's Pizza   This was old school playoff ball! Great pitching and defense for both squads. I must admit I was extremely worried until a 5th inning breakthru. Dan Bloodgood started with a hit and Max Keparutis blistered a ball that lead to two big runs. Chris Comproski singled in the 6th and Big Jim O'Neil punished a ball for a triple. Let us not forget Sal Fuda with two hits and three solid innings on the mound. Big fun at the Park today. Hats off to a solid Northwestern Mutual team.

Northwestern Mutual   The score really does not tell the story of this game. For a majority of the game, it was a back and forth battle, & only late in the game, did the Pizza Boys pull ahead for the win. Congratulations to Manager Murray, Coach Bird & players & best of luck in the next round. Team Highlights: Nate: on base 2 for 3 with a BB & single. Nick: Pitched 2 great innings with 4 K's. Harrison: Wow. On base 3 for 3 with 2 singles & a BB. Nice job. Noah: Nice single & good job pitching. Ryan L. : Nice job defensively. Louis: single & our only run scored. Pitched 2 good innings. Bobby: On base 2 for 3 with a BB, & a huge Triple! Nice way to end your NC Babe Ruth career Bobby! Justin: Hot bat! On base 2 for 3 with 2 singles, & our only RBI. Brian: Nice job in left field. Sam: On base 1 for 2 with a BB. Nice catch by the second baseman to rob you of a hit. Ryan A.: Sharp hit but went right to short stop for the out. Nice job making contact again. Zack: Nice job in the outfield & good work out there all year long to position our outfielders. On behalf of the Coaching Staff, we wanted to say THANK YOU to our players & parents for making this such an enjoyable season. We had lots of laughs with a good dose of fun mixed in, which was important. The skill level improved throughout the season & was indeed apparent with our last two games. Make sure you keep practicing boys.
