Swifty's prevailed 8-6 in a hard fought battle against an excellent Blanchard Post squad in an exciting game filled with many big hits and fine defensive plays by both sides. The Swifty's Offense was led by the bats of Ian Dickinson who drilled a 2 RBI double to deep center in the top of the 6th inning to drive in the winning runs, Joey Schrempf who slammed a triple, 2 RBI double and scored 2 runs, Derek Martelle who had a key RBI single, Alex Shudt with 2 singles and 2 runs scored, and Matt Wise and Kevin Harder who each singled and scored. On the hill, it was a combined effort from Swifty's that did their best to minimize the damage from the Post with Joey Schrempf going the first 3 innings, and Alex Shudt and Austin Fox finishing up. Plays of the day were from Eric Signor making a fine running catch in right field to rob the Post's Ben Brock of a sure hit in the 6th, and gunning down a runner at the plate in 5th inning.
