The Bellizzi squad put notch in the win column to start the 2nd half against a gritty SGMS team. SGMS struck quickly in the first on a laser beam home run by Matt Tiberia over the left center field fence. Bellizzi put a 4 spot on the board in the 2nd inning to regain the lead 4-2 on hits by Matt Gillespie, Max Butler, Zach Zonca and Chris Taranto. Bellizzi had runners on in the middle innings, but were thwarted by the great pitching of Dermot McDonough, Matt Tiberia, and Kyle Lewis. The pitching highlight of the day, however, went to Connor Momrow. Connor "Houdini" Momrow escaped a bases loaded nobody out situation in the bottom of the 5th by striking out the next two batters and inducing a ground out to second base to preserve a 5-2 lead. Bellizzi broke the game open in the top of the 6th highlighted by bases loaded clearing double by Caleb Federman. Defensive plays of the game: Nick Marshall's snag at 3rd base of a hard hit line drive for SGMS and Ben Brock's(Bellizzi) grab in centerfield of a hard hit ball. Some great plays and game from both teams. SGMS is solid team that will be tough to beat in the second half.
