SGMS had one of its best games of the season against a talented Backyard Sheds & Gazebos Team. Dermot McDonough, Matt Tiberia and Kyle Lewis were all excellent on the mound for SGMS holding our opponent to only one run over six innings of play. Our excellent pitching also benefited from some stand out defensive plays: Will Vagianelis behind the dish catching a difficult pop-up in foul territory along the first base side fencing and also gunning down a Backyard Shed runner attempting a steal of 3rd base with assistance from SGMS third baseman, Nick Marshall. Kyle Lewis, Colin Roche and Luke Andres made some fine defensive plays at shortstop and second base forcing out several Backyard Shed lead runners at second and third base. The SGMS bats were alive as well with Kyle Lewis contributing three walks and two runs scored, Luke Andres a walk, single and three runs scored, Matt Tiberia two walks and two monster singles and three runs scored, Dermot McDonough two singles and one run scored, Colin Roche a single and one run scored, Nick Marshall with a walk, monster double and one run scored, Matt Perry two walks and one run scored, Nick Burby one walk and Will Vagianelis one single and two runs scored. Nick Zigrosser, Will Partridge and Jason Piccolino were steady on the mound for Backyard Sheds with a particularly nice defensive play from Lleyton Emory at second base.
