In an opener that was reminiscent of a post-season playoff game in term of intensity and nail-biting, Crisafulli Bros. took a hard fought loss against a talented Swifty's squad. The offensive attack for Crisafulli Bros. was led by Michael Turoski who had a single, double and scored twice. Jack Huber and PJ Gallagher also added runs scored. The hurlers for Crisafulli Bros, Joey Schrempf and Alex Shudt, pitched a strong game, and were helped out with some fine leather that was flashed by Zack O'Brien snaring a hard hit line drive, and Cameron Schultz catching a fine game, and throwing out a would be base stealer. Congratulations to Jeff Hammond on his fine pitching performance and clutch power hitting, and to Daniel Chambers, the winning pitcher for Swifty's.		This was a hard fought game by both teams providing all the excitement one could expect from a season opener. Crisafulli Bros proved to be a challenging and worthy competitor with some great hitting and a fine pitching performance by Joey Schrempf and Alex Schudt, combining for at least nine combined strikeouts. Swifty's fought hard and battled back from behind several times during the game, most notably in the bottom of the sixth, with a two-strike homer by Jeff Hammond to tie the game, key walk by Will Alston to put the winning run on, a huge double by Noah Thornton, and a clutch walk off base hit by Chris Baker to get the most improbable victory. The pitchers did a fine job, particularly Dan Chambers who worked two strong innings in relief, earning 4 K's. Overall, it was a gritty team effort, with many players getting some big hits, and a strong fielding performance, especially a big throwout from third, Keith Bagdon, to first, Brendan O'Keefe, to stop a late inning rally by Cris.
