Initially, the warmest day of the season seemed to deter the CROs, but as the evening cooled, the bats came alive. The fourth inning produced 6 runs on seven hits (singles: Methe', McLoughlin, Ricci, Oberting, Aquario; doubles: Barnes, Ferris) and a walk (Pardo). We added another run in the fifth inning with a walk (Barnes) and another double (Ferris). The result was a real game. Defensively, the game was mix of solid and swamp. The swamp allowed several unearned runs to score and required our pitchers (Barnes, McLoughlin, Pardo, Oberting) to work a harder to finish innings. The solid was several good plays recording outs in both the infield (Aquario, Oberting, Ferris, Methe') and outfield (Aquario). Congratulations to Mike F. for a stand-out effort on offense (two doubles) and defense assisting in several put-outs (6-3, 3-1, 3-1). We wish the Northeast 'Pods the best of luck with the remainder of their season and thank Coach Lue for a competitive game.
