Great game played on opening day. Solid pitching and timely hitting. Defense was strong for the second game in a row. Keep up the good work. Coach Brian will add comments later. It was indeed "Opening Day" for North Colonie Youth Baseball and our second game in 24-hours. These situations always test the depth of the pitching staff, but the CROs proved up to the task with six solid innings provided by Aquario, Methe', and Pardo. The CROs also played both sides of the ball well. Offensive strikes included a healthy peppering of singles (Barnes, Durante -2, Methe' -3, Dunbar, Ricci, McLoughlin -2) and a double (Barnes). The defense continued to react well to the ball and make the plays in front of them. Catching again was solid (Durante, Ferris, Ricci) with the highlight being a well executed CS 2-5 (Ricci, Barnes), i.e., the base runner is caught stealing with a throw from the catcher to the third baseman who then applies the tag.
