Very close, tense, exciting game. In the bottom of the 5th, Bellizzi's Grand Slam Camp had runners on 2nd and 3rd but failed to tie it (with a runner called out at home on a WP to end the inning). In the 6th, once again the Bellizzi team put runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out -- but again failed to push the tying run across. It was one of those games; somebody's heart was bound to break. Stars: Matt Riker was tremendous on the hill, going 4 and 2/3 before running out of bullets. Struck out 12 with only one BB. Mendleson came on in relief and, as always, made it interesting. He K'd the final two batters to seal the victory. Offensively, Riker scored twice, Mendleson once; big RBI double by Preller, and a very productive out by Hicks plated the deciding run. Michael Bailey continued his hot hitting. Two hits each for Riker & Mendleson, while Fox & Turoski also chipped in singles. Defensively, Preller was the glue with quality work behind the dish. Lastly, hats off to David Sausto who pitched extremely well in defeat. And all Dan Sausto ever does is hit, hit, hit.
