For those of you who weren't born yet, were too young to remember, are not sports fans, or simply don't care and just want me to tell them what happened on 10/30/74 let me say these 4 words to you: 'Rumble in the Jungle'. Yes - Ali/Foreman. Not that Achievements/Bella Napoli was anticipated as the battle of the year, but the progression of events resemble each other. Achievements = Foreman; Bella Napoli = Ali. The Italians came out and scored a run on 1 walk in the first. The Achievers failed to tie the score. The Napolians threw barely a punch in the second going down easily 1,2,3. The Achievers loaded the bases with no outs in the 2nd round and had the opponent on the ropes but only a single run had the score cards even after 2 rounds. 2 quick runs by the Zapponians in the 3rd with only 1 base hit showed that the Achievements defense was going to be an issue in the later rounds. After 4 rounds, the judges had the game scored at 3-2 Bella Napoli. That is when the medicine in the pre-game water took effect and the rope-a-dope tactic turned the tide. The 5th and 6th inning were like the 8th round of the Rumble in the Jungle. Coach Duran was screaming 'No Mas'. Josh Koppel threw a decent 3 innings giving up only 1 hit.
