Fast paced game in the 90+ degree heat – we were done with 6 full innings by 7:25. Kids were excited, parents were excited - just like all of the other games we've played this season, the boys played to win. I couldn't be prouder of you guys - standings mean nothing! Enjoy the week and a half off - tough schedule and you deserve a break. Great outing for the Choppers behind starter Gary Pivoda. At one point in the game Gary struck out 5 in a row and pitched three and a third scoreless innings. Pitcher, Joey Kirker came into the game during the 4th with one out and runners on. He (and the rest of the team) really did a terrific job getting us out of the inning. Bats are coming alive - and we are not watching many strikes. Notable: Tyler "Ty-Rod" Roach had a double to left in the 5th - and was driven in by Dan Lue's base hit. Nick Dzialo hit a line drive bullet but the Mr. K shortstop made a great play.
