    Greenfield

    Greenfield Town Park

It's a bit out in the country and not the easiest place to get to if you are not familiar with the area. With high school age kids driving, I would strongly suggest meeting somewhere and traveling in a caravan at some point - even if it is from meeting at the point right off Exit 13 when you get off the Northway where there is a Stewarts at that first light that is included in the directions and in the total amount of traffic lights before you take your first left. If you are trying to figure how far a ride it is, it is about fifteen to twenty minute ride from when you get off the northway at Exit 13 and Exit 13 on the northway is about a 30 minute ride from Exit 7 in Latham. Coming from Schenectady and from Rt. 50 North, you might want to meet at the parking lot at SPAC(Saratoga Performing Arts Center) on Rt. 50 and caravan in together from there.

From Rt. 87 south of Saratoga, go north to Exit 13N and get off exit and merge onto Rt. 9 north toward downtown Saratoga. At your fifth traffic light total (sometimes one of these five lights is a blinking light and sometimes it is a solid light so regardless if whether one light is a blinking or solid light, it is your 5th light total) and first light after the main entrance to the Saratoga Spa State Park where it goes from two lanes to one line on the side of the road you are traveling on, take a left at that light.

After you take that left, go straight through your next light and take a right at your second light onto West Ave.; and the high school football field will be directly on your right.

Then go to your 5th light on West Ave. and take a left onto Rt. 9N (not Rt. 9 north but Rt. 9N) going toward Greenfield. How you know you are at the right light is because if you did not take a left at this light, you would have to either take right or go directly into the Adirondack Trust Bank parking lot.

Once you take this left onto Rt. 9N, then you will go about five miles into the middle of Greenfield Center which after you have taken that left off West Ave. onto Rt. 9N will be at your second traffic light. This 2nd light is soon after a plaza on your left where there is a Stewart's Shop and a Pizza place and will be your last place for food and drink before you get to the field.

After you go through the one traffic light which is just past the plaza where Stewarts is in Greenfield Center, you will travel about two more miles on Rt. 9N going toward Corinth and you will end up taking an immediate left right after you go under the only railroad track overpass after Greenfield Center. You will see a small sign for the Greenfield Town Park saying to go left as well. Follow this road back a mile or two until on a slight incline you will see a green sign saying Greenfield Town Park; which is located at the same location where you will also see a sand and gravel pit area for the town highway maintenance department. Take that left and follow that gravel road back to where the big field is.

If you are coming from Schenectady follow Rt. 50 North through Ballston Spa and after you pass the blinking yellow traffic light at the SPAC parking lot on your left go through the next light and then take your next left onto West Ave, where you will come to the traffic light where the high school football field is and then follow the directions above from there.

If you are coming from the West and Amsterdam; take Rt. 67 into the center of Ballston Spa and take a left on Rt. 50 north and then follow the above directions.

If you are coming west from Rt. 29, take a left off Rt. 29 right after you go past the post office and onto West Ave. and then take a left at your next light onto Rt.9N going toward Greenfield and follow the directions from above.

If you are coming from the north, take Exit 15 and stay to the right going toward the middle of Saratoga and follow the blue hospital signs which I believe will be taking a right at the 5th light. After you go by the hospital on your right continue straight and the next light after the light in front of the hospital will be the light at the intersection of West Ave. and Rt.9N going toward Greenfield. you continue to go straight at this light and follow the directions from above.
