Overview      BACK   TOP   INDEX       (Game Results & Highlights)

Results (i.e. Game Scores and Highlights) are easily entered into InGoodStandings through it's simple game-entry pages.  Once entered and approved, the results are immediately reflected in the online standings for all to see.  Anyone who has registered a "game-watch" will automatically be sent an email with the game results information and a link to get to the standings web pages.

InGS has a two-phased approach to entering game results.  There is a "Results-Entry" phase and an "Approve" phase.

1. Results Entry
   Game results are entered into InGS by managers or selected administrators as games are played.  Anyone can be authorized to enter game results for any team, division or season.  So your league may choose to have one person enter results for an entire division, or they may choose to authorize individuals to enter results for some or all of the teams within a division.
   Note that results are NOT reflected into the online standings until they have been "approved" by an authorized approver (see below).
   
2. Results Approval
   A selected few administrators for your league should be given the responsibility of approving game results.  These approvers are notified via email whenever a game result is submitted by team/division administrators.  The approver then reviews the game information and checks the "approve" or "disapprove" button to finalize the results-entry process.
   

How to Enter Game Results

Results (Game scores and highlights) and schedule changes can be entered in the "Enter Game Scores" section by managers, coaches or league administrators. 

Instructions:

• Go to Game Results Entry Pages: www.ingoodstandings.com/standings/gamesel.asp
• Choose your league/season/division
• Select your game from the game list
  • The game list shows a list of all games that had a scheduled game date of today or before. 
  • To see future games, Click the link titled "...Display Future Games Also"
  • Games highlighted in gray have already been entered (you can still choose them and update the information). 
  • Games highlighted in yellow have had information entered that is awaiting approval.  You can update/add to this information.
• Enter your Game Results (click here for more details)
• Click the Submit button

Approving Game Results: BACK   TOP   INDEX      (Game Results & Highlights)

Before being reflected in the standings, any entered game results must first be approved.  

The function of "results-approver" should be given to a few administrators who have the opportunity to process the game entries in a timely fashion (preferably, every day).  The function can be given to multiple administrators so that any one of them can approve games in a timely fashion.  Game approvers will receive an email from InGoodStandings each time game results or schedule changes are entered.

Instructions To Approve Game:

• Go to Admin Pages: www.ingoodstandings.com/standings/adminhome.asp
• Choose your league
• Click on "Approve Game Scores"
• Choose your season
  You will now see a list of games that are awaiting approval.
• Click on each game
  • Review the game information
  • Click on Approve or Disapprove at the bottom of the page
    You may also choose to send an email to the last person who updated this game record

Here's tips for filling in the Game Results Entry Form:

• Always assure the number of innings/periods are correctly specified.
  This assures that the game is properly displayed when fans choose it
• Fill in the lines scores for each period/inning
  The display of the game to your players and fans is always more interesting when the details are filled in.  But if you don't have the details, the best place to put the game scores is in the "other" column.
• Insert your highlights in the appropriate box for your team
• Pitching Records (where applicable)   
  You can fill in the information about the pitchers for your game in this area.  Note that any pitcher previously entered for your team will appear in the pop up list for easy selection in subsequent games.
