InGoodstandings.com
Overview
InGoodStandings (InGS) is an Internet web site that allows you to maintain
your league schedules and standings (and MUCH more) quickly and easily using
your Internet browser. InGS provides a
reliable and up-to-date information source for all, it also promotes
communication and participation from your fans, players and administrators.
One major benefit with InGS is that you always have an "Advocate"
just an email away. InGS advocates are always available to assist you in
maintaining your site. They will promptly answer your email
questions. They will even perform the changes for those of you who are not
comfortable using an Internet application such as this (or just to save you
time!!).
Below, we'll explain the various steps that
you'll be taking to get your league "up and running":
Start Your League
|
To start a new league, you simply enter
the desired league name and number of divisions to start
with. And with the click of a button, your league will be
initially created! |
|

how it looks to enter the info |
|
InGS will create a new league which
will initially contain one new season, the number of divisions
you indicated and three teams in each division. All will
be created with generic names that can be easily be changed at
any time. |

Customize Your New Season
|
If you just created your league for
the first time, your first season has already been created.
Otherwise, on the administration web pages, a click of a button
creates an additional season. |
|
|
|
|
At this point, you will use the
administration web pages to change the names of your divisions
and teams, until it accurately shows the current structure of
your season. InGS advocates will be available to
assist or perform this function is you so choose. |
|
|
|
If your league already has its own web
site, you can now include links on your web site to the
standings and schedules just created
under InGoodStandings.com. |
|
|
Enter the Schedules
|
You game schedules are then entered
online via a set of easy-to-use web pages. You may choose
to use an InGS advocate to assist in entering the schedules. |

Authorize Individuals to Perform
Various InGS Functions
|
InGS allows you to authorize
individuals to perform various duties, each at various levels: |
|
Duties Include:
- Enter Game Scores
- Administration (Team, Division or Season)
- Update the News
- Manage Sponsorships
- Approve Game Results
|
Levels Include:
- Season
- Division
- Team
|
|
|
|
These authorizations can be granted and revoked as needed during the course of
the season. As more people are identified or volunteer for
the various functions, the administrators can add and remove
authorities.
When you first join InGS, you will probably have one or two
people entering the game scores for all teams. But at any time,
any individual can be given authorization to enter game scores
and/or team news for his/her particular team.

|
|
Normal Season Operations
|
Update the News: Each season, division and team has its
own separate news page. Managers, administrators and
authorized individuals can log in at any time to update the news
including any topics they choose (practice schedules, rosters,
upcoming events, etc.) |
|
|
|
Enter Game Scores: As games are completed, the designated
individuals use their home Internet connection to enter game
results and highlights. These changes are not yet applied
to the standings, but are put into a
"pending approval" state. |
|
|
|
|
Approve Game Scores:
Game-Score-Approvers periodically log in to
review the game results that are pending approval. They
scan the pending changes, modify them if necessary and then
approve or reject. One approved, the game is immediately
reflected in the standings, and email notification are sent to
anyone who had set a Game-Watch for those teams. |
|
|
|
Submit to Newspaper: Periodically, a member of your organization can submit the
current standings and game results to the media (local
newspaper, etc.) by using the InGS newsPaperView to gather the
scores to be sent, and then using your computer's modem or email
to send it to the newspaper.
|
|
|
|
View Schedules and Standings:
Every day, your fans will be visiting the schedule and standings
pages to view game results and schedules. They are also
setting InGS Watches for their favorite
teams. Watches result in automatic emails being sent to them whenever a
new game result or schedule change or news update is entered
into InGS for that team. |
|
|
|
Update Schedules: When a game needs
rescheduling, addition or deletion, the
administrator quickly and easily changes the schedule
online. It is immediately reflected in all of the web site
and email notifications are automatically sent out to all those
who have registered watches for the teams involved. |
|
|
|
Communication: During the course of the season, the
administrators at the various levels easily communicate via the
email addresses and lists that are available on the
administration web pages. |
