A great opening to the season for the Vipers. Evan Grimes hit the first pitch on a rope to center and the offense followed with four runs. Andrew Sieczkowski had a tremendous game, going three for four with four RBI's. Evan, Bryan Wilcenski and Jacek Strain added triples. Andrew Macpherson came in to pitch two solid innings after Shea Iveson took one off the hand in the second inning. Shea had relieved in the first and was doing well before that injury but he was able to return later in the game. Jason O'Brien added a solid inning and Jacek Strain came in to shut the door the last two innings. Jeffrey Swift made a nice head's up play to end the game by throwing a runner out at third. It was real team effort tonight and that's what wins ball games. Good luck to Niskayuna the remainder of the way.
