The Reds momentum from opening day faded a bit in the second game of the season. Offensive contributions from Josh Bein (1-2 wth a 2 run double), Dan McMullen (1-2 with a double and stolen base) and Patrick Baumgrass (1-2 with an RBI single) weren't enough to overcome a persistent Therapy squad. Fine pitching performances by Ned Englebride and Ben Wander kept the Reds squad within reach of the Therapy nine throughout the game.		On a clear, sunny opening weekend of baseball at Magee, Deyoe's Advanced Therapy beat out a scrappy and determined Birr's Russell's Reds by a score of 8-4. Advanced Therapy's win came with contributions from all. Eric Deyoe and David Kalmer combined for a pitching gem, shutting down a fierce Reds offense in the late innings. On offense, Advanced Therapy saw contributions from Christian Pappas, who lined a sharp double, scoring two runs. Ryan Zigrosser had a walk and also stroked a seeing eye double to left center, plating a run. Shane Brownell hit a nice single to left. Kalmer had two walks, one with the bases loaded, giving him an RBI. Cooper Martell had a triple off the right field fence, scoring two. Martell also scored on two past balls. Deyoe hit a nice double, and Jonathan Scotto and Brenden Carroll each drew a walk with patience at the plate. Gavin Heffernan and Alex MacDonald took one for the team and advanced to first after being hit by a pitch. Way to hang in there, guys! Defensively, Heffernan and Scotto did a nice job behind the dish. Heffernan threw out a runner attempting to steal, supporting his pitcher. Greg Wilson made a great catch in foul territory in left, not allowing a runner to advance and preserving the lead. The play of the night was a game ending, 6-4-3 double play, Martell to Scotto to Deyoe. Great game played by all. Advanced Therapy is now 2-0. Let's keep up the good work.
